Last week, I had the opportunity to present Nethopper at the weekly Learning Lab, hosted by Paul Baier. It was a great session where I shared our vision for enterprise search and insights with AI—while keeping security and privacy front and center.

Paul kindly described the talk as “well worth a listen” and positioned Nethopper alongside other leading vendors like Glean, all focused on AI-powered enterprise search that respects company trust boundaries, governance, and role-based access control (RBAC).

Hearing that was encouraging because these are exactly the principles we built Nethopper around.

Why We Built Nethopper

In today’s workplace, employees are overwhelmed by fragmented data spread across multiple SaaS platforms—OneDrive, Google Drive, Slack, Confluence, GitHub, and many more.

This fragmentation wastes a huge amount of time.

According to McKinsey, knowledge workers spend 19% of their workweek just searching for information. For a mid-sized company, that translates into millions of dollars lost annually.

At Nethopper, we believe AI can solve this problem by unifying search and insights across all work data—instantly and securely.

Our platform acts like a personal AI chatbot for every employee, giving them fast access to the information they need, exactly when they need it.

What Makes Nethopper Different

  • Complete Data Access

    • We can connect to all the data sources your employees use, not just a portion. This means no more silos—just one unified search experience.

  • Personalized and Secure

    • Each user searches only the data they’re authorized to see, thanks to strict RBAC policies.

  • Enterprise-Grade Security

    • All AI operations happen inside your private IT environment. Your data never leaves your secure walls.

  • Privacy First

    • We don’t use your data to train models or for any other purpose. Your information stays yours.

What Enterprises Should Ask Their AI Vendors

During the session, Paul and I discussed some important questions companies should ask when choosing a genenerative AI solution:

  • What data will the AI access?

    • Ideally, it should cover all the data your employees use.

  • Where does the data go?

    • The best answer is that it stays within your enterprise environment.

  • How is access controlled?

    • RBAC and strong governance are essential.
